The goal of any website is to drive sales or awareness, and encourage value proposition. When a client visits your site, make it an easy decision as to whether they need your product or not (of course they do!)
A good brand campaign is to shift the attention away from you, and onto your customer – making them the reason you created the product in the first place!
Don’t make a distraction
One thing you never want a visitor to ask when using your site, “Where do I go next?”
If your website has multiple calls to action, or the navigation bar has too many links to choose from, a visitor’s attention will be diverted away from the site’s main focus – to sell.
Tip: break your navigation into a primary menu and a secondary one. The primary navigation should include links to only a handful of important pages, for example – the pages that sell and educate your product.
Secondary pages should include FAQ page, an ‘about us’ page and anything else that is less likely to be accessed as regularly, although still easy to find.
Everything on your marketing website should be designed around a clear path which highlights where a visitor goes from the homepage, to becoming a paying customer.
In order to optimise your call to action, why not place a ‘purchase’ button, an email update or contact details in clear view throughout your site – encouraging customers to make contact or even purchase such products. If a customer doesn’t purchase, at least encourage them to subscribe to your email updates for the future. If you’ve achieved this – your website is effective, easy to access and user-friendly.
