Social media is one of the biggest marketing game changers in existence. The majority of technology owners come into contact with social media multiple times during a normal day, whether they have their own social media accounts or not.

The world has already seen how powerful the social media sector is, and it’s only going to get more popular as technology and marketing advances are made. Twitter is an incredible social platform, and as one of the leading providers of digital media services in London, we’re here to tell you why you should work on your Twitter tactics for 2016!

Find Out More About Your Followers

You may have gained quite a following on Twitter with your brand’s account, but are you really understanding your audience on there?

Rather than focusing your efforts on gaining a huge amount of followers, why not turn your attention to the followers you already have? See what they are interested in, and find out when they are most active on the network.

Not only will this boost engagement through shares and tweets from the content that you are tweeting, but it will automatically bring in new, interested followers who are actually interested in what you have to say. Pinpoint their penchant and you’re on the sure fire way to success!

Use Images

In our last post, we discussed how important it is to create visually appealing content that will draw in interest to the content you are sharing.

It is exactly the same for the content that you are sharing on Twitter. In fact, tweets which contain images or other visual aspects are more successful with engagement through re-tweets.

Make sure you are making the most of Twitter’s media options to attach visual content to your tweet and get more people sharing. Make sure that you are using copyright-free, relevant images, and try and use pictures that haven’t been shared thousands of time before- people will be less likely to share tweets with well recognised stock imagery!

Hashtag Hoedown

Twitter may have been the birthplace of the hashtag, but that doesn’t mean that you have to include one in every other word.

Hashtags are incredibly useful when they are used properly, just try not to over-do it and put people off clicking the relevant ones. If you are wondering whether a hashtag is relevant, the best way to tell is to ask yourself whether you would search for it if you were looking for relevant content. If so, hashtag the word away! If not, maybe have a re-think!

Never underestimate the power of 140 characters- we guarantee that it is more powerful than many people think!
